Rep. Roberts announces reelection campaign to Missouri House - Joplin Globe - 11/25/19

Missouri state Rep. Lane Roberts announced on Monday his intent to seek a second term next year. Highlighting his experience, Roberts, of Joplin, announced his reelection campaign as a Republican for House District 161, which takes in parts of Jasper and Newton counties.

"Conservative values, my oath of office and life experience have guided my decisions on whether to vote 'yes' or 'no,'" Roberts said. "It is rare that such a decision is simple, and every decision deserves careful consideration."

JOPLIN, Mo. — A Southwest Missouri lawmaker announces his re-election bid. State Representative Lane Roberts will run for two more years in the Joplin-based District 161 seat.The Republican was elected to the position in 2018 and currently serves as the Vice Chairman for the Subcommittee On Appropriations for Public Safety, Corrections, Transportation, and Revenue.

Former Joplin police Chief Lane Roberts secured more than 70 percent of the vote, defeating Democrat Elizabeth Lundstrum. Roberts was unopposed in the Republican primary. Roberts won by a margin of 2,316 to 982 in Newton County and by a margin of 5,636 to 2,933 in Jasper County.
